This past week's U.S. Senate confirmation hearings have captured the attention of the nation and shone a light on sexual assault and sexual violence. For many survivors of sexual assault these very public proceedings have renewed feelings of fear, anger, vulnerability and shame.
KU is a community that cares. Please know that help is available at KU. Student survivors of sexual harassment and sexual assault can seek counseling services through KU CAPS or the CARE Coordinator at Watkins Health Services. Faculty, staff and student survivors can find round-the-clock assistance at the Sexual Trauma & Abuse Care Center in Lawrence, http://stacarecenter.org/
All members of the KU community are invited to learn more about sexual assault prevention and response through programs available at the Sexual Assault Prevention and Education Center. http://sapec.ku.edu/educational-programs
Faculty and staff are reminded to review their knowledge of procedures and obligations as mandatory reporters. Http://policy.ku.edu/IOA/sexual-harassment-sexual-violence-procedures

Interim Provost Carl Lejuez
Vice Provost for Diversity & Equity Jennifer Hamer
