[Pols-announce] Fall semester & preparing for prelims

Hello all,
   Hope all are having a nice summer.  It is hard to believe it will be August already in just over a week!

   Graduate students ready to take preliminary comprehensive exams should get their registration in by August 1st.
I have received four so far, and I know there will be at least a couple more.

  Faculty, remember to be starting to think about questions, as the exams will probably take place in September.
I have reached out to some people about Chairing, and will be following up.  It will be good to get these decisions made soon.

   There have been a lot of changes over the summer, which you will learn more about.  Look forward to seeing people back soon.

New Graduate student orientation will be on August 17 10 a.m. in 512 Blake

Fall classes begin Monday, August 21st.

Students should try to enroll prior to the first day of classes, to avoid a late enrollment fee, even if only taking dissertation.
