Hello All,

I hope everyone had a good weekend! Below is a description of what to expect for each Workgroup this Friday, Feb. 9th. Please note the room change for the Python Workgroup. This group will be meeting in Watson Library room 503A this week and next week from 1-2 p.m. Also a quick reminder that the Spatial Stats Workgroup will not be meeting this week. They meet every other week and will therefore meet again on Friday, Feb. 16th.

1) Bayesian Multi-Level Modeling Workgroup with Paul Johnson, CRMDA Director | 11 AM - 12 PM | Watson 455 Conference Room
Everybody is required to have stan installed for conducting MCMC simulations. We'll be trying to compile the update on the cluster computing system on Tuesday as well. Also, concentrate on ideas to finish up the updating slides to transition into discussion of MCMC.

Charlie and I will fabricate a logistic regression example. Also, we will introduce a super fun participant weekly registration form courtesy of Auburn P: https://goo.gl/forms/RtMadyTaZNMe2Exj1.

2) Python Text Analysis Workgroup with Jonathan Lamb, CRMDA Faculty Fellow | 1 - 2 PM | Watson 503A
This week is a Project Development Day. The group will review and help a student with their ongoing project. If you are interested in having your project reviewed and receive help from the group, please email group leader, Jon Lamb at jonathanplamb at ku.edu<mailto:jonathanplamb at ku.edu>.

The next Instructional Day for this group will be the following Friday, February 16th.

The Python Workgroup has a Github repository<https://github.com/jonathanlamb/workgroup> where you can access the Jupyter Notebooks with which they're working with. Remember that to download the file correctly, you will need to right-click on "Raw" and click "Save Link As" (or the equivalent phrase in browsers other than Firefox). It is suggested that you save all of the Python files that are being used in the same folder on your computer.
