Hello Team!!<br>
<br>
You are receiving this because you have actively engaged with
the Land Development Code efforts. Please help us maintain (or
regain) momentum by taking the requested actions below- asap,
sharing these resources with your networks/neighbors, and
sharing new ideas and feedback as it comes up. We need people to
show up on 11/12 in NUMBERS and we need our messaging to align
across the community for maximum impact. Feel free to copy and
modify any of this to fit your voice or audience.<br>
<br>
We have a petition! This will serve to increase awareness and
distribute common language. Please share it all over social
media, neighborhood email lists, etc.<br>

We have a Facebook event that will serve as the info hub for all
outreach. It has all materials like images and links to
articles. Please invite your FB friends to join.<br>

We have signs (soon!) Get yours out for the trick or treater
traffic! They have been very well received by passerbys. Pam
will get signs to partners to distribute asap after they arrive
tomorrow. If that list doesn't connect with you, just reach out
and we will get you a sign/signs. We especially need them in
unexpected neighborhoods. University Place and East Lawrence
will be well stocked. Where else can we get eyes on them?<br>
If you are one of the folks who pledged to fund this batch of
signs, please pay Pam Burkhead by cash or check. 1720 Indiana.
You can also venmo Mandy Enfield and she will transfer the funds
to Pam. @Mandy-Enfield (last 4 of phone # is 4866, if it asks).
Let's keep a list of sign names to add to our core contacts and
make sure they have the materials needed to align messaging.<br>
<br>
We have materials! Share our LJWorld article and Letter (pdfs
attached), share Phil Englehart's through feedback, or share any
other materials as they are created. You can also use the
attached image for your FB cover photo ;)<br>
<br>
Get your public comment ready!<br>
You can write it up now and send it to Commissioners
individually instead of waiting for them to receive it in their
agenda packet. It must be submitted before noon on Tuesday,
11/12. Please also email it to the general commission address so
it will be included in the packet. If you want help or inspo on
your public comment, just reach out. We have written SO MUCH,
there is plenty of language available for you to adapt :) You
can even request a 1on 1 with them, if you are so inclined!<br>

Plan to attend the City Commission meeting and SPEAK on Tuesday,
11/12, 5:45pm.<br>
Commissioner Larsen advised us that numbers have an impact. Even
if you don't want to share a full statement, she said it is
meaningful to just get up and say you agree with a previous
statement. We will draft a plan to ensure all points are shared.
You will have access to the planned speaker lineup and their
topic so you will be able to easily hop in where you want and
share your support. The commission agenda packet from 10/5 has
great feedback to reference for your own letters or for a
reminder that we're on the right track. The Lawrence
Preservation Alliance especially wrote supportive and compelling
language.<br>
<br>
I will continue to share updated plans and messaging here and on
the FB event page. Stay in the loop and help us all maintain
motivation by sharing your ideas, actions, and good news! This
code is tedious and we are up against serious barriers. We have
to generate our own motivation and good morale to grow our
advocacy and power through!<br>
<br>
Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you all!<br>
