Douglas County has multiple municipalities that determine their own standards for expansion. The county limits are not going to expand any time soon. </div></div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">If we are going to send questions to a group called the “Voter Education Coalition” might it be a wise move to keep questions focused on what the candidates will face as elected officials in a particular office. Throwing in unrelated questions to the policy that would be formed at the various levels of government serves only to confuse and misinform citizens rather than intelligently inform them. Which I see as a direct contradiction to the mission statement of the VEC. </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Are we knowledgeable citizens who want our fellow citizens to be intelligently informed?</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Perhaps a rewording of the question would be more ideal, Do you see urban sprawl as beneficial or detrimental to expanding the tax base of the local area and why?</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">How do you see continued urban sprawl impacting the needs of the county government in the next 4 or 8 years? </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Other rewrites are possible but let us make sure the questions are focused on the actual seat being discussed as opposed to distractions and red herrings. Our community has endured enough of that ignorance these last few years.
