 Greetings,

We are inviting you to a dedicated LAN Planning Session, and hope you will join us:
Meeting date:  Thursday, August 21st, 6:30pm, Jayhawk room, Firestation #5, 1911 Stewart Ave.

At the July LAN meeting, we discussed our unsuccessful efforts to influence the Land Development Code Update and similar failed efforts to advocate for neighborhood concerns that were consistently ignored by the Planning Commission and the City Commission. We decided it was time to review LAN's goals and methods with a view of improving our chances for success in the future. Among possible changes, members discussed greater involvement in City Commission elections, and expanding our lobbying efforts at City Commission and Planning Commission meetings.

In the past we have had representation (in no particular order) from:
Brook Creek, Old West Lawrence, Barker, East Lawrence , Alvamar, Schwegler, Springwood Heights, Hillcrest, Sunset Hill, University Place, Dad Perry Park, Pinckney, Southsiders, Oread Residents, and Heatherwood Heights.

We are asking that neighborhoods have at least one, but hopefully two, representatives willing to attend.
It's important to get your feedback and help us discuss our next steps, by all having this time together.
