Dear LAN Listserv members,

The Multi-Modal Transportation Commission (MMTC) would like to meet with
representatives of Neighborhood Associations and neighborhoods to get
our input on the  Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP).  They
started by reaching out to LAN members.  Here is MMTC Chair Nick
Kuzmyak's invitation:

The Multimodal Transportation Commission (MMTC) is holding a special
study session before their August 7 monthly meeting. It's called
"Your Turn", and is the first of its kind in a few years. MMTC is
hoping to have some neighborhood representatives join for a
discussion on the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP). To
strike a balance between having enough participants for a lively
discussion and having it get too crowded, ideally this would be 3-8
participants. One per neighborhood would be helpful in order to
optimize the number of neighborhoods that join the discussion.

The MMTC hashed out some potential discussion questions that may be
    of interest for pondering beforehand:

      * How does the pilot application process work? What happens to
neighborhoods not represented by an NA? What barriers might be
        deterring NAs to apply?
      * What input, if any, is desired from neighborhoods adjacent to a
pilot project? What are good strategies to solicit that?
o Same question for input from outside the immediate area.
      * How can we ensure that there is neighborhood consensus on
whether a pilot is wanted at all, or what the goals of a pilot
        would be?
      * What are the views between one-off vs whole-neighborhood
approaches, conventional vs innovative methods, speed vs volume
        control?

*If you would like to attend the August 7 meeting to provide input on
how to improve the NTMP,**please email Gary Webber, LAN Secretary, at
**gkwebber at gmail.com**. *

I will compile a list of interested neighborhoods.  If more that 8
neighborhoods express interest, the first 8 to express interest will be
invited to the August meeting, and a second study session will be
scheduled at a later date to accommodate the remainder. We will discuss
this invitation at the July 19 LAN meeting.
Best Regards,
Gary Webber
