    see if there was any interest in scheduling a meeting to discuss an
    upcoming downtown parking project. Parking staff is looking to
    decriminalize parking enforcement in downtown Lawrence.
    Historically, stationary offenses have been issued by both parking
    officers and the Lawrence Police Department. Municipal offenses
    instead become civil penalties enforced only by parking enforcement
    officers. The City desires to update the current procedure for
    processing municipal parking offenses to more closely align with the
    City’s commitments identified in the City of Lawrence Strategic Plan

Our July 19 and August 16 agendas are full, and the consultant will be 
here August 2. LAN Chair Holli Joyce has scheduled a special meeting 
with Brad on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, 6:30 PM, via Zoom. If you would 
like to learn more about this proposed change in parking enforcement 
downtown, and participate in a response from LAN, please attend this  
meeting. There will also be a survey at the end of this month, or you 
could provide input directly to Brad at bharrell at lawrenceks.org. We will 
briefly discuss this item on July 19 to prepare for the special meeting.
