[Electronic-LAN] survey on form of city government

My name is Rob Sands, a 20 year resident in West Lawrence.  Did you know 
that the city commission recently formed a study group to look at our 
form of government in Lawrence?  This committee, the City Government 
Study Task Force, which meets about every other Monday (meeting schedule

City Commission a recommendation on various topics by June.  Their 
recommendation may address changes to the role of the mayor, number of 
commissioners, how the mayor is elected, and whether or not we should 
have representative districts.

Because there is a tight timeline, I’m afraid that the word has yet to 
get out about this committee’s important work.  Over four meetings, they 
have had only three public commenters.

I would like to ask for your help.  I have designed an informal, 
unofficial, and 100% ANONYMOUS survey (the survey asks no identifying 
information other than age group).  The data gathered will be shared 
100% PURE AND UNEDITED with the members of the committee, the Lawrence 
Association of Neighborhoods, and frankly, anyone who wants to see the data.

Because I did not ask for any identifying demographic information, it 
will not be a statistically valid representation of the city. The point 
is to gather information, opinions and ideas that may assist the 
committee and the public regarding this issue. I don’t intend to provide 
recommendations to the committee. I only intend to provide the 
information gathered by this survey to the committee and they can 
interpret it themselves.
