Good afternoon,
At this week's LAN meeting, I again brought up an idea that a Pinckney
Neighborhood Association officer had proposed for a Halloween event:
the *Halloween
Lip Synch Neighborhood Challenge*. Since we can't do any sort of
Trick/Trunk-or-Treat this year, we can still host something fun for kids
while still practicing responsible pandemic procedures.
Here's the scoop, direct from our treasurer:
- Challenge each Lawrence neighborhood to create a lip sync video with a
Halloween theme AND to raise money or supplies for a charitable entity of
their choice.
- We would set a GO LIVE date for each neighborhood to post their video.
Each neighborhood would claim a song (PNA calls Monster Mash).
- We would create video content by having families/pods show up IN
COSTUME at an outdoor location to dance and/or lip sync in front of an
appropriately socially distanced camera person.
- FYI - if we don't have anyone else in the neighborhood that has the
equipment and experience to make a music video, my son does has video
equipment and experience that would allow him to put together a music video
from the collected footage.
- I'm interested in hearing your thoughts. I think this would allow some
physical activity while still maintaining appropriate social distancing,
and it would be a fun way to pull the neighborhoods together.
*Action item:*
Respond to nick.kuzmyak at gmail.com and pinckney.neighborhood at gmail.com if
you are interested in participating by *9/25.*
Once we have folks interested, we will set a Zoom meeting to hammer out the
details, with the idea of letting our neighborhoods know by *October 1st* (or
soon thereafter).
Thanks,
Nick Kuzmyak, Pinckney vice president
