City offering new opportunities for input on Downtown Master Plan

The City of Lawrence Planning & Development Services Department is making progress on the Downtown Master Plan. Currently, our consultant, Houseal Lavigne Associates (HLA), is working on Step 6 of 7: Drafting of the Plan. To date, Steps 1-5 have been completed.

  *   Step 1: Project Initiation [COMPLETE]
  *   Step 2: Community Outreach and Engagement [COMPLETE]
  *   Step 3: Market and Demographic Analysis [COMPLETE]
  *   Step 4: Existing Conditions Summary [COMPLETE]
  *   Step 5: Downtown Visions, Goals and Objectives [COMPLETE]
  *   Step 6: Drafting of the Plan
  *   Step 7: Plan Adoption
There will be further engagement opportunities later in Step 6: Drafting the Plan and Step 7: Plan Adoption, but staff and the consultants would first like to gain feedback from stakeholders and the community regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on the long-term vision for Downtown Lawrence.

The consultant previously released a report on Existing Conditions<https://lawrenceks.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=7ca5a42664e87643b2b54d343&id=faf32ea5b3&e=640138863d> as well as the proposed vision for downtown. Additional feedback regarding impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on that long-term vision can be given on one of three ways:

  1.  Virtual Downtown Master Plan Engagement Sessions focused on, "How has the COVID-19 Pandemic affected the long-term vision for Downtown?" Click on one of the sessions below to register for the event. After registration, you will receive a link to the Zoom meeting. Attendees can join via computer/video conferencing or by calling in with a phone.
