Hi all, Here's an idea for a LAN subcommittee. During our recent Zoom
meetings about CDBG funds, lack of neighborhood support from Planning, etc.
there was much discussion (as always) about all the neighborhoods that
don't have associations.
This means they don't have a mechanism to strengthen their hoods by
building community & to request funding for projects.
With the most cursory Google search I found many "How to create a
Neighborhood Association" links that could easily be be customized to
Lawrence.
Wouldn't it be awesome if LAN created an online kit to help other hoods
organize? Plus, organized neighborhoods could volunteer to mentor a new
association early in their process.
Typically a neighborhood group is formed around a big contraversial issue
but it doesn't always have to be born in conflict.
What does everyone think?
