Discuss election for December: Shipley stated that she will not be able 
to chair in December, Harrod will chair the meeting. She will also not 
continue as Chair, no volunteers for the position Harrod volunteered to 
serve as Chair. Mosher will not be able to continue as Treasurer, no 
volunteers for the position. Heter agreed to serve as Vice-chair.

Henderson stated suggested that discussions on the topic of “community 
benefit” in that Plan 2040 possibly prompted this latest round of 
interest in the question.

Kirkendall stated that Strong City Manhattan KS recently completed one. 
Several articles on the “Strong Towns” web site suggest and they found 
that even with a time scale of 40 years, development never paid for itself.

The City Manager has suggested using a spreadsheet from created by 
Roeland Overland Park City Manager.

Kuzmyak encouraged LAN members participants to participate in the survey 
for the new Director of Planning and Development Services. public 
services director.
