Dear LAN listserve members,

Please read the call for nominations below and take a few minutes to
nominate your neighborhood.  The deadline has been extended, and is now
April 2.  I know we have some of the best neighborhoods in Kansas, it is
time to get some recognition!

Good afternoon,

 

I serve as the managing editor of The Journal, a quarterly magazine
published by the Kansas Leadership Center. In our Winter edition, we
announced a competition to recognize the best neighborhoods in Kansas. Our
initial application deadline passed recently and we have ZERO submissions
from Lawrence (despite having more than 300 readers of the magazine living
or working in the city). I was hoping to enlist your help in encouraging
neighborhoods from Lawrence to apply. 

 

We are extending the application deadline until April 2. Any resident of a
neighborhood can nominate where they live by answering the questions we've
included here: https://klcjournal.com/the-building-of-a-great-neighborhood/

 

Objective data is great, but we aren't looking to honor places based only on
the typical criteria. I think what we're looking for are places with great
stories to tell about who they are, where they've been and where they're
going. If you would consider nominating your neighborhood, I would be most
appreciative. There are amazing places in the Lawrence and they deserve to
be recognized.
