  Steering Committee draft of /Plan 2040/ now available.

The Steering Committee draft of /Plan 2040: A Comprehensive Plan for 
Unincorporated Douglas County and the City of Lawrence/, is now 
available online

This draft is the product of 18+ months of public input, 4 years of 
Steering Committee research and discussion, and input from communities 
throughout Douglas County.

The draft /Plan 2040/ will have a public hearing before the 
Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Commission this November. 
Hearings before the Lawrence City Commission and the Douglas County 
Board of County Commissioners will be set and announced by each body 
according to their schedules. This plan revises and updates /Horizon 
2020/, Lawrence and Douglas County’s current comprehensive plan, which 
was adopted in 1998. The public is encouraged to participate in these 
upcoming public hearings.
